Dumb question I know, but if you don't know ask?
I'm doing chops today, with fried peppers and onions, I'm sorry to admitI've never done fried potatoes
I was going to do then in olive oil and maybe throw some chopped bacon and a touch of garlic in aswell!
Good or bad idea ?
Alternative ideas welcome, thanks!

Do you mean sauteed potatoes? If so, this is what you want to do. http://www.reallynicerecipes.com/recipe/potato/sau...

I'd be reluctant to add bacon or garlic (you could only do this after cooking anyway due to the high oil temperatures and long cooking time required for the potatoes).

For your description of what you want to achieve perhaps dauphinoise potatoes may be better? You could add bacon and garlic to those.

mmmm sauteed pots.

yum

you have to boil them first or it will not come out right, but the recipe above tells you that.

Take left over boiled potatoes from yesterday's dinner, chuck them in the pan and fry. Jobs done smile

You need to let them go cold before slicing and frying

Plus if you get bored with slices try cubes with some herbes de provence over the top! (still boil first!)

Mum used to do exactly this with leftovers from Sunday lunch, think that's where I got a taste for them.
