llegally right, but morally wrong?

Scenario

approach to roundabout (three exits) two lanes.the LH lane is backed up due to the first exit (exit 1) being full and progress is slow.
The right hand lane is empty and i want to go straight ahead (exit 2)
so whilst i could go up and across, the highway code says 'not correct'
BUT if i did a circuit of the roundabout from the right hnd lane, i could exit (2) OK
somehow, it wouldn't feel right.
Any thoughts?

Crikey, I did that exact manoeuvre of a morning every day for 2 years (going all the way round in order to jump the tailback of lane one), leaving the second junction of a busy motorway roundabout. There is not a prayer I would ever have arrived for work on time without it.

lots of people do things like this.. Even if they want to leave at the first exit.

I wouldn't do it for the first exit but wouldn't have a problem using the inside lane for the second exit.

Just go around and then exit as you wanted. Providing you observe and indicate as you should, morals don't enter into it.

I wouldn't even think twice about it. If anything you're reducing congestion in the inside lane thus helping others.

i do it to goto exit 1.

yes some clowns try to block me once they've seen me to the circuit of the roundabout, but sparkly new merc vs dented old bangernomics mobile means i win every time and they always give up, and in i go

Check your Highway Code again...as long as the right lane isn't specifically marked otherwise, you are absolutely fine to use that lane to carry straight on and exit via exit 2.

If it is marked right turn only, you could go all the way around, I suppose, but I wouldn't personally.
