to get the door card off by sticking your hand in through the speaker hole?

I tried and tried at the weekend and it just won't go. I can get the first two nuts, but the third is beyond me.

Any ideas?

All I actually need to do is to screw the top half of my ciggy lighter into the bottom, given they've parted company. Thinking croc clips and a bit of wire!

Cheers

It is possible, but it hurts.

My method.
Open the door, sit on the floor between the door and the sill as far forward as possible, legs flat on the floor underneath the door. Left arm in the speaker hole, but take your hand upwards into the door first - this allows you to get your elbow in, then down toward the nuts.

I had to slightly enlarge my speaker hole when I was doing the passenger side in order to get my elbow in.
Cover the sharp edges of the speaker hole (I used duck tape) to minimise the fibreglass scratches and replace the nuts with wingnuts to make it easier next time.

Not easy but I did the same and it worked. There is a point when you think "If I get my elbow in here will I ever get it out again" it just takes time to get your arm in and out, it is not a quick job.

Alex, (daredevilz) did mine, had it off in 2 minutes.

I believe the secret is a 10mm ratchet spanner iirc.

It's also easier if the window is up.

Yup, window up and a 10mm ratchet spanner (I tied a length of fishing line around it to make retrievel easier - you will drop it at least once inside the door). M6 wing nuts to make it easier for the next time.
