i am not a fan of PC beige interiors but what always irks me about BMWs is that bloody horrible slab of faux metal just slapped on, really dislike it

luckily BMW seam to have dropped it from the latest cars

Personally I like the beige in this instance although it doens't go too well with the alu trim.

Hmm - I have a Porsche with an interior (cocoa) I absolutely love but I do fully agree with you they can do some stonking bad ones. The 'Placenta Red' ones are the worst.

As to the OP's image - I don't mind that. Not sure I'd spec it but I've seen far worse.

Loads of BMW's interiors have been pathetic. The quality and style that defined the E38/E39 was thrown out for the E46, where horrendously tatty materials and bland design were the order of the day. Some 330Ci's are horrendous for a car with a mildly premium aspiration.

The old Z4 interior was dreadful too. Mind you, a friend of mine has just bought an E89 Z4 sDrive 23i Roadster in Deep Sea Blue with Kansas Beige leather and Ash Grain trim. The beige leather and wood trim do an absolute wonder for the interior and it is a million years away from the tatty crap in the old Z4!

It irritates me very much. As an example, the above interior belongs to a car that has done 112k. Seriously, someone sat for 112k in THAT?!

BMW's seem to be the worst offenders for this horrid interior. Prehaps it says something about the customer base....

What on earth are you talking about? That's a great interior for an every day car.

For what it's worth, I shy away from hearing aid beige too. I much prefer Bat Cave black. I had a V70 in such a pensioner inspired hue, including the carpets and it got absolutely filthy virtually everytime you got into the thing.

The "problem" with an interior like that is that it's all beige. Carpets, dash lowers and door plastics should be black. Having just light coloured seats makes the interior look fantastic. Having it all beige is just Bleurgh. I've lost count of the number of cars I've looked at only to find an interior like the one pictured above and move on to the next.......

What I dislike about the interior above is it comes from the time when BMW abandoned the design of angling everything towards the driver. It's not so much the leather or the materials (although that slab of what I presume is plastic made to look like aluminium is offensive.)
