Tuscan Racers message to TVR
Discussion

Need some Idea's for a sticker to go on the cars at Thruxton to appeal to TVR to keep the series alive

16 years old, needs a facelift, needs cost control, but they still lap as fast or faster then the "New Tuscans" and are complete utter bastards to drive

'Free George Davis' whoops wrong campaignand the new ownere may be a little young, nor from London to remember
.
Personally would hate to see the Tuscs go they have a 'days of thunder' about them perhaps a play on something like that may help.
Then again I'm sure a similar thing was said when they went from RV8's to AJP's in some quarters.
Harry
Soz, not really helping much there am I

"Save the Ballistic Bathtubs"
"Look Nik, we're still B quick"
But seriously folks, a sea of purple flags and throngs of fans mobbing Mr.Smolenski and praising the wonderful spectacle that is the TVR Challenge may help him decide to keep it all going.
No6 is ok anyway, being a protected habitat, home of the rare, and currently endangered, Monk-eh.

Strange and conflicting messages coming through on the TVR grapevine, together with a strong suggestion that NO

Spectator support will now be even more important, plenty of purple flags needed, but It may be prudent not to display stickers on the cars this weekend as TVR intend to have a competitors/drivers meeting in order to let us know the options available for 2005.
I think that we should all, spectators and drivers alike, just have a great weekend

That might be more compelling if you could buy a roadgoing Tuscan racer at your local dealer?
Well maybe... You've never been able to buy a Tuscan racer yet it has done an enormous amount for the brand over the years. The Tuscan racer epitomises that quintessential TVR quality - in your face, more power than is remotely sensible - raw excitement with knobs on.
I speak to other race drivers and they are all still in awe of the Tuscan. The GT guys who haven't come through the Tuscan route all say 'I don't know how you guys drive those things, they look evil'. Whilst the F3 guys, well we don't talk to them because they're not old enough to drink or have sex, so their opinion is worthless

I remain convinced that TVR need to race to maintain the brand image. I accept that the Tuscans can't go on forever - but until a new car is available I really want to see them continue, albeit a little refreshed. And as an aside, whilst Porsche are huge in GT racing, there is a bedrock of Porsche championships which develop the cars and drivers for the GT races.
I believe there are quite a number of people coming along to support at Thruxton which is great to hear. It should be a great weekend

Now I must go to bed as I'm testing tomorrow and we have a diff to change beforehand...

Like the bit about the F3 children

Testing eh!!, need more the track time eh! well, some of us will just pitch up, get in the car, and drive like the hero's we are, furthermore, us adults stay up until passed midnight whilst you kids need your sleep and pop off to bed at 10:30, bless him sleep tight, don't let the Tuscan bugs bite

Tuscan's can't be allowed to fade away.. they are THE best entertainment, when the grid numbers are right.
I'll never forget my races in #28 still the biggest grin I've ever had in motorsport (despite the caning the wallet took)
Mr Smollenski needs to be encourged to race one for himself.. perhaps a bit of coaching from Caine or Campbell-Walter .. he'll soon get the bug .. who wouldn't

Hallo mate, long time no see, how the hell are you???
We'll all do our best to keep the Tuscans alive and well, prehaps we can get the costs down for 2005 and get Ex Tuscan drivers like yourself back in.
Unless you've done it, it's hard for others to understand just how good it is, you raced in 98/99 didn't you, I know it was in one of my cars, (but the old memory's failing)

Keep well mate, and drop me an e-mail with your latest contact details
