So, i just got ****ing soaked while inside my car.
Discussion
Be advised, this is a rant, and it will be a long one...
I'm on the way home and it's been heavy rain and hail all evening. Im driving down a dark, unlit NSL country road. It's stopped raining now, but all the roads are covered in f
king water. Anyone who lives within 9000 miles of this road knows how notorious it is for flooding and big puddles.
So, im driving along with the heater on, because it's cold. However, maybe its because my car is f
king s
t, or just a fact of life (or that is has more water leaks than the exxon valdez and the carpets are always damp) but the windows keep steaming up. As a result, i have the drivers window down by about an inch, which seems to solve it.
So, i approach the long sweeping S curves, and see (as usual) some f
king
with high beam on as always (why are people f
king obsessed with high beam? i can drive and stop in the distance covered by dipped beam, but half these f
king morons have to use high beam all the f
king time there's no street lights. They also dont read the f
king road ahead for lights coming the other way, and give you 5 seconds of eyeball burning before they turn them off).
Anyway, this prick is hurtling towards me at a rate of knots, high beam on, blinding me. I give a quick flash of my lights to tell them.... no reply. I give another quick flash, still no f
king reply. It's now clear a hopeless
is behind the wheel.
All of a sudden, f
kING BANG!
This prickass hits a puddle which totally covers his lane. It must be about 6-7 inches deep, and proceeds to shower my car in mud/water and all the other s
t lurking in this puddle. I couldnt see it and stop before it happened, because my eyes were receiving laser eye surgery from this t
ts headlights. Because i wasnt expecting it, i didnt have wipers on, couldnt see where i was going and had to slam on.
You guessed it, a f
k load of water came through that 1 inch window gap and soaked my coat, head and the inside of the car.
I knocked the hazards on immediately as i came to a stop. This f
king
ing b
d f
king w
ker slowed down a little after the puddle, then sped up and drove off. What a grade A, useless f
king s
tbag.
Im in the middle of nowhere, and for all they know, i could have been an old gimmer having a heart attack as a result of what just happend, and this f
king maggot just drove right off. This f
king prick could have been leaving me for dead.
I accept that people f
kup now and again, after all, im no driving god, but if the person had even stopped until i was ready to drive off to make sure i wasn't dying, i wouldn't have had that much of an issue. It's not like i would have smashed their head in or tried to hunt them down.
So, if it were you in the 04 Vectra tonight taht did this to me, you are a total clueless f
king moron.

I was in the Griff and had the window down to stop it from misting up.
Saw the car coming a mile off. Saw the huge puddle. Knew what was going to happen.
All I can say is that the electric windows on an early Griff were comically slow and getting the filthy water and grit out of what was then a new car took the rest of my day.

So - you use dipped beam, yet expect the car to spot your lights, and react before you both come into view of each other?
May i suggest you use your main beam, and then the other driver may get some warning. Personally, i dont see what the issue is here, we all get dazzled by the on coming drivers main beam from time to time, you were hit by a bad bit of sods law regarding the window, but really, expecting the other driver to stop? why would they? they didnt know you had your window down, and even if they did, would they really want to confront someone who gets THIS irate over a situation that they did nothing to help?

Turning the absolute f
kery of someone else into my fault as always.Classic PH.
Surely if your window had been closed this would have been a non story?
And yes, I always use main beam wherever possible on poorly/unlit roads.
