Hi All,

I saw a thread on here with some criticising people seeking advise for things they should not be attempting. Well I think this may be one of those tasks.

I am happy to give almost anything a go and have learned a lot through these forums, but getting the frickin wireing loom out has stumped me so I have stopped for lunch.

Before I give up completely a few questions.

1) do people pull the loom through from outside in or inside out?
2) is it necessary to remove the dash lower to get access ( currently struggling to split the wiring where is disappears under the dash.
3 Would it be simpler to simply cut the plug inside the car and pull out the unwanted wires one by one?

Any tips or tricks appreciated.

the loom runs down to the ecu, and also a plug behind the dash, which is wired to gauges etc. you really need to access the back of the bulkhead behind the dash and follow the wires, if you cut them off, you will end up removing the dash to reconnect or refit a replacement anyway (if that is what you're doing)

Are you just removing the engine loom?

If so;

1) do people pull the loom through from outside in or inside out?

Pull loom from inside footwell.

2) is it necessary to remove the dash lower to get access ( currently struggling to split the wiring where is disappears under the dash.

No. remove radio and you can put one hand through the aperture and your left hand under the dash from the passenger footwell and unclip the 2 multipin connectors, (one brown and one white).

3 Would it be simpler to simply cut the plug inside the car and pull out the unwanted wires one by one?

Not necessary!!!!!!!1

Took me 10 minutes once I knew how, (thanks Shaun!).

Thanks for the response, also spoke to V8D (Thanks V8D)

Job jobbed actually not too difficult although I now look like I have a self harming problem!
