Display dim (intermittent)

My 2003 S350 (W220) seem to have poor illumination where the display for mileage, malfunction, etc; is. Sometimes not as bright as it should be and then other times its OK, the other bits of the display time, gear and outside temperature are fine.

Any found this and cured it ?

A bunch of resistors behind the instrument cluster are not functioning properly. It could stay like that, or it could fail. No telling when.

Google 'Revtronic'. They can replace the resistors and send the cluster back to you within a few days. I had this done on my W220 when I had mine.

My one failed spectacularly. Lights gone, needles jammed in position whilst I was driving on the M40. Speedo needle was at 110!

Think it cost approx £190 if memory serves correct.
