Went to the Rally day at Combe a couple of weeks back. During one of the track sessions we spotted a white mini chasing (and keeping up with) a 6r4. Vtec or vauxhall I thought. I was really surprised when we saw it in the paddock with the bonnet off

The car was stripped out and looked very lightweight and the driver obviously knew what he was doing as the speed the car carried round the track was awesome. I couldn't hear any s/c gear whine which is why I thought it wasn't an a-series.

Never caught up with the owner, but I'd really like to know more about the fuelling setup. It's looks like Amals, but they look different to other Amal setups I've seen.

Any ideas anyone?

Cheers

Neil

That looks fabulous, Neil.
Don't know what the carb set-up is. I agree that they don'y look like Amals. Could they be the old Fish carbs?
The holes to let the hot air out just in front of the screen look interesting. I wonder if they work, or do they just allow oil fumes to coat the screen?

It really made my day seeing it blast round making more exotic machinery look very slow indeed

I never noticed those holes before. Maybe it used to have a 5 port head with a weber and they are something to do with that.

I spent more time looking machine work in the air intakes. I don't think thay are holes so I wonder why they are there
