Can we run our 100,000 mile mk4 golf tdi 130 pd od proper biodiesel from a refinery?
We have a local farm shop that now has a pump with the stuff straight from the refinery and not the home made stuff.

If we opt to run it are there any precautions we should take?

Degredation of 'O'ring seals and ruel lines within the FIE system and engine will be your biggest problem.
High percentage biodiesels have a tendancy to make some types of Nitrile rubbers swell and with nylons they degrade the tubes from the inside out, all potentially leading to leaks. Changing items for a Viton based rubber hoses will help to protect from fuel leaks caused by degredation, of course this may not be practical.
You should also make sure that you clean your fuel filters regularly. If you leave the car to stand for any period of time then microbial growth can occur in the fuel and potentially block/ plug filters and cause fuel starvation issues.
