Ahhh, bless him......

A BMW coupe stolen a couple of miles away from my house (keys taken through letterbox) turned up months later in Smethwick being driven by a kidknapper who was out on licence. Although thats the only licence I think he'd ever seen....he pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods, no licence, no insurance.
This guy was OUT ON LICENCE and do you know what he got?
100hrs community service and a 2 yr rehabilitation order....you BIB's must get fed up trying to catch this sort of scum!

That's why I don't bother following up my jobs...
Too depressing.
However, we on Firearms always carry round a spare replica handgun for just such an emergency....
Which hand would you like the offender to be holding it your worship?.....
Rgds
P.S. For all tree-huggers/human rights bashers out there - obviously this is standard firearms joke and does not happen in real life!!

It's depressing in some ways....
The softly softly attitude of the courts, prisons and probation service sometimes makes me
However, I still love sorting the shitty scum out daily and if they don't get a decent enough sentence the first time, then the second one will sort 'em out.
Besides, we the police, have to continue and slog away for the sake of the good people of this country who rely on us.

Yes, like all the "Police Camera" / "Road Wars" etc fly-on-the-wall shows on TV.
EXamples seen many times: BIB chasing a lowlife who has just stolen a car / smashed up other cars / driven down a dual carriageway the wrong way / burgled people's houses etc etc...
Then you hear, "...released pending social reports / community service / rehabilitation order..." and other such namby-pamby cr@p.
If you're all above board (i.e. registered, MOTd, taxed to the hilt) and want to drive in a way you may enjoy, which includes going faster than pathetically / unrealistically low limits then you're shafed by instant fines run by revenue-obsessed corrupt "partnerships".
This country really is sliding down hill with this sort of inbalance in the legal system.

I think the obvious is a bit too simplistic. The community service order simply relates to the car offence. What the papers do NOT tell you is, that since he was out on licence, his licence will be revoked and any early release considerations and parole ditched. So he will effectively pick up a couple more years inside. This does not make the papers because that would spoil an outrageous story.
