Having only had my pride and joy a little under two weeks, some old b@%*#!d decided to ram my mini after we overtook him (perfectly safely, I might add - he was pootling along at 20mph for god's sake), and then he refused to give his details and drove off!!!

Luckly we got his registration and a witness and then managed to flag down a police car and report the incident.

As you can imagine I am totally fuming!! and would love to get hold of this man!!

What is the world coming to with people like this!!

I hope the cops have a very stern word with the guy.

Is the car badly damaged?

Not too bad - small dent in the rear bumper and boot, but its money I could have spent on something else.

Haven't heard from the police yet, going to call them later on.

Bumpers about £15 and the boot quite thin so you may get away with a bash, skim and a bit of paint.

I do hope the old codger has his license removed from him though. Leaving the scene, failure to report, driving without due care...

Unfortunately it seems to be getting more and more commonplace - a mate of mine was coming home from work the other week when some idiot in an Audi TT overtook him on a country lane, but pulled in too early and hit his front wing. He tried to catch him (not the wisest idea but i'd do the same ) but couldn't. However, he did report the plate to the Police, and it came up stolen.

WTF is the world coming to?

This sounds very familliar! Some tosser in a Volvo estate did the exact same thing to my brothers mini after we'd overtaken him. Tried to do a runner but realised he wasn't going to get away and stopped. I was ready to serve justice and judging from the look on the Volvo drivers face he knew it.
