Am Radio not working but sport button great

Just a quickie guys,
AM radio not working.Not even a crackle.
Is this a common fault? Is it a dealer fix? Do I just stick with the DVD!!!!!
It is a 260 Linn system.
The car has been performing faultlessly since initial gripes and now that I have found the sport button with the flappy paddles its even better.

My 2007 9 has the same problem, it's about a £600 fix.

New AM module needed, I will stick with FM for now, and probably forever.

Yes, my car is under warranty, and no, not covered, I tried when it was in for service.

£600 for an AM radio

You could try this for £81.17 and the install would be easy (well once you have found the module). You do risk it not being the module which is at fault of course but you could always sell it again if it doesn't fix the issue. From the parts diagram it is somewhere in the drivers rear quarter panel area on the coupe.

There are some other elements in the circuit and power is supplied by Fuse 64 which is in the cabin fusebox and should be checked just in case.

If you do sort it out then can I have the duff unit. I would like to take a look and see what goes wrong with it.

Either this or... What are you listening to?? James from Paralight will install a DAB radio into your car - I think Nick had it done..?

I will have a chat with Stratstones in Amersham this week and see what they say.
To be honest they have fixed everything and anything that has gone wrong without charging me a penny.
Including mishaps that have been down to my own stupidity.
ps Forget the messing with ripping radios out and installing bits myself.
I get pleasure from driving not ruining a car and believe you me,I would wreck it!!!!!!
Will post the response from Stratstones once I get an answer.
