Just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.
Not sure there are many hot rodders on this site, but hey we are all petrol heads!
I currently run a 1953 Anglia which has a Cobra 5ltr Mustang engine with a mild race cam , three speed auto box, jag xjs back axle , GT6 front clip and full race breaking all round , all built on a bespoke chassis.
I will be at Sundowners car show if you fancy a nose!

Thanks for looking,
Colin

This looks similar to a car I saw around Goodwood last weekend, but you are not from this area. Was it you?

A 1946 Ford anglia was my first 'road car' back in 1964, passed my test in it as well!! how i do not know as the speedo wavered between 25-35, and although the steering was ok for the MOT, my dad reckoned 1.5inches play at the circumfrence was excessive.Broke halfshafts due to the fierce ( and how) clutch. 6v electrics, vacuum wipers and semaphore indicators reg was FUO 87. Bought it for 40.00 sold it for the same 15 months later when i 'upgraded' to a 58 100E. which was 'looked at' later with home made lowered suspension, and home made remote gear lever, and an aftermarket GN manifold that joined up after the front seat and a rear exit pipe diameter the Victoria line would have been proud of.. My mate had a Ford Prefect done up near enough the same. We nearly got round to fitting a 105E four speed box and an Aquaplane inlet over exhaust head. Went all 60's Chav with Lotus Cortina type quarter bumpers and had the FORD stripes on them within an hour of the first GT40 win at Le Mans. They were not the quickest off the mark but i had to put a 100mph speedo from a Daimler Conquest in it to find out what speed we were going at ,as the original sort of went rock solid at the 80 indicated.Oh and rally slip over seat covers, bloody comfy, as well. and a centre console fitted with after market smiths instruments, oil pressure/temp, ammeter, vac gauge and a rev counter where the old speedo went, The Daimler speedo was now sited above the console.. The front seat were hinged at the front and could be wedged with the top left hand corner of the passenger seat up against the A pillar, thus giving plenty of room for passion in the rear EXCEPT when i was getting a bit enthusiatic with a young lady who was reclining on the back seat with me kneeling in the foot well ,when our conjoined efforts loosened the seat and it came crashing down on the back of my knees. Adjustments were quickly arranged.

Happy Days indeed.
