I want to buy a LHD car in this country and take it overseas and re-register it in another country but to complicate things it's on French plates! Does anyone have any idea on how to insure it? I'll probably do this two or three times with different cars over the next six months or so, so it might make sense to get a long term policy rather than a cover note (for example).

Any ideas or thoughts?

Yeah, I've managed to find out that much scouring the internet but not much more really. Endsleigh will insure an imported LHD car so I might give them a bell tomorrow and see what they say. Tricky!

Rules might have changed in the last 15 years but when I brought my Chevy over from the US to the UK it was on Maryland plates. The insurance company, (Commerical Union I think), insured it no problem using the Maryland rego and VIN.
