urgent advice needed..DB9 battery removal????
Discussion
i am trying to get the battery out of the car??? top cover is removed, and the bracket holding it in has been unscrewed, but i cant seem to slide the battery out... i can move it, but cant lift the battery out???
do i need the get the bracket out in some way so that the battery comes out, or does the battery come out without the bracket being removed??
thanks nick

I'm trying to replace the battery in my DB9 and although I have got the metal lid off and the battery disconnected, I can't for the life of me get the battery out; it doesn't even move when I try to lift it.
So, then I loosened the 5 nuts that hold the front/side bracket in place as much as I dare, but I'm worried the screws will fall through if I loosen them all the way. Even so, there's little or no movement in the battery. It's almost as though the bloody thing is bolted to the floor!
Any help/guidance would be much appreciated!

Well, I've made some progress in as much as I've been able to get the old battery out. There's black clamp (surrounding the yellow reset button) which I hadn't made loose.
My problem now is getting the new battery in. I can't work out how to get the lip of the clamp into the recess of the battery; the clamp doesn't come up far enough to marry the two pieces up.
I have to say this seems pretty ridiculous; the only reason you'd make something this unfriendly is to deter people from doing it themselves.

I don't remember there being an issue getting it back in. The clamp sits on top of the battery moulding not in a recess. Have you removed the clamp? My problem now is getting the new battery in. I did it! With much huffing, puffing and swearing, I actually did it!
SLacKer, the clamp on mine isn't a clamp, per se; it's a metal plate that slides up and down in a couple of grooves and has a lip on it that fits into the recess on the battery. So, in order to get the battery back in I had to make sure it was lined up not only with the lip, but the metal grooves, too. The plate itself is built around the reset button but kept fouling on the thick power cables so I disconnected everything I could, which allowed for free movement.
