Best place to sell wedge???
Discussion
Pistonheads is the best place if you want it to go to more of an " enthusiast". eBay will obviously give you massive coverage though you'll have to decide if you want to go for auction or classified ad. With classified you'll have to pitch it right on price etc or you won't sell auction will attract bids but might not get as high as your reserve and cost are higher. Also on the flea There are a lot of d**kheads who bid and then don't show etc. Personally I'd go for pistonheads first then if it doesn't sell and you need to sell then go onto flea bay
Good luck
Good luck

Hi Paul
IF you decide to sell could you Email me some details over first please. Was going to look for a V8 early next year and I'll be perfectly honest I'm not sure my budget will run as far as a 390 but send me over some info and hopefully i can make the sums add up. May save you the aggro of adverising your beast Many Thanks Ron

I received this email(I removed the name at the end, to protect the innocent!!)
"Hi Paul, please do,nt take this the wrong way, but you should not of bought that car, i know your car and so will any other wedge enthusiast, that car has been passed pillar to post, the value of that car was lost the moment the engine was removed, your discovery engine will not be correct for that car in anyway shape or form, i'm afraid you will be very lucky to get £2k for it, i would sell the engine for what it owes you and place the car on ebay with a low start and see what happens, i only paid £2k for my 390se with 12 months mot and with the correct engine still fitted, i know its not what you wanted to hear..."
Thoughts, anyone??

How about some basic details of the car ?

If I do that, it will contravine the forum rules...

Hi Paul
Could you email me the name of the guy who bought his 390 for £2k as I want to offer him £3k for it - I'm sure he'll sell as they are not worth much and he's going to make a grand profit !!!!
Seriously just ignore it. Ok it's not the correct engine but that's not an insurmountable problem as you could have a replacement built to the same spec. As I mentioned before I'm looking for a V8 - just email me when you're ready to let go of the car and hopefully we can sort something out

Hi Andy...I'm suprised you haven't bought it!! You've bought everything else!!

Thanks for the advice, and nice to see you sitting in a wedge again...Here's to a fast recovery

Paul
...When I removed the polythene makeshift cover from the car, where it has sweated, it has left marks on the paintwork
I'm not sure that the paint is 2K; I've polished(mild abrasive) by hand, and it reduced, but I think it needs mopping before I can make a proper assessment...
That makes my project even LESS desirable than it is!!
I might have to shelve it until I recover, and do a complete nut and bolt resto...
Ah well, worse things could happen - The result being, I could get to own an immaculate wedge...Not a terrible outcome..!!
