As we are planning for our 10 years anniversary, somewhere near the centre. We have not been to London for years so don't know where to go !

Depends on what you like really......tons of choice.

I think Marylebone is a great area to stay as it's a good place to go out in the evenings....everything from very high end to gastro pubs within a 5 min walk and also very close to Oxford St. It's 5 mins walk from Selfridges and Bond Street.

This place is a nice local hotel in a great location and on a quiet street but literally 100 yards from Marylebone High St with loads of shopping/pubs/restaurants.

I haven't stayed there but when my kids were baptised in the church next door we used it for the post match both times. Staff were great and couldn't do enough for us.

Old school, The Connaught is my favourite or Claridges. For even more old school The Stafford is also lovely. Avoid The Lanesborough like the plague, and The Dorchester whilst there are beautiful rooms and suites also has some very average ones too, and the lobby can get very, very busy.
For something newer I like 45 Park Lane, and loathe The Bulgari. All of the ones I've listed are Park Lane/Mayfair/Knightsbridge, and toppy. But then you didn't specify a price and it is your anniversary!

To be fair, it depends what you're after.

Yes, Claridges, the Dorchester, etc along Park Lane and similar are lovely venues if you are after the super high-end dining scene. if you're bringing your good lady to London for a sightseeing anniversary, to do some touristy stuff - the eye, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Aquarium, Buck Palace etc, you will be every bit as happy staying somewhere like the new Park Plaza. Lovely airy hotel, nice rooms, and situated right on Westminster Bridge. Brilliant 'tourist' location. That'll save you lots of cash to go and enjoy the city.

However, I'd you're going down there for a hi-end hotel & fine dining experience, then of course, those already mentioned will be more suitable.

No worries. It's terrific, and can be had for very sensible money.

Enjoy your anniversary!
