I am after a set of the TVR cast rockers covers. I know they are hard to get hold of but I thought I would ask again.

As rare as very rare things - do look good though. Fortunately mine came with them, as the original lump replaced with a brand new Griff spec 4.3 in the early '90s.

Yeah hens teeth Paul. Got a nice engine conversion going on and thought the rocker covers would top it off.

If they are that rare and someone has a pattern I can get them cast here, a colleague works closely with a foundry ang gets ally cast all the time, if we had the pattern and some numbers it could be worth while?????
Are they both the same or handed?

Adam & Rob

The man selling the one half I beleve had more than one, if I/we can get one I am happy to send it to Auss for Adam to have a go at make pairs as I am certain that a ltd number would be required by fellow "Wedgers"

Hi Andy,
I had a look at the photo of your yellow beast engine, it's hard to see exactly the set out of the rocker covers but it looks as if they are basically standard covers with the modified tops, so if I get a set of standard covers machine off the grove pattern from the tops so it is flat then from a template off of yours make the new TVR logo out of mdf and nicki ( car bog) as a pattern maker would do then get a pair cast. The top and bases would both need machining for polishing and fitting and the rest can be painted to your colour of choice.
Would you be able to get a good template or if we can get 1 I'll make the other as above to match it mirror image....
It will be a good challenge.

Done an eBay search for the rocker cover and can't find it. I will try again later.

Hi Rob

If you find one I am happy to fund the idea of getting some made with Adams help.

Any profit would go to the BBWF charities!

Hi Andy,

Not being a Scrooge here, but I don't see this as a profit making scheme for the BBWF charities. I am willing to TRY and find at least one rocker cover and send it to Adam so he can see if he can work some magic down in Oz for any wedgers that would like to benefit from this. But I don't think it should be made into a profit making quest from our fellow wedges.

ETA

If people would like to make a donation to a charity so be it. But to affix one from the onset is not what this was about.

We are doing some aly castings for work, bigger than rocker covers will come to about 90 quid a pair.

However the tooling is about £50k, so you have to make a freaking load of them to make any money at all!

Exactly! I was just demonstrating the futility of doing it to make money! You have to do it for love, or not at all....

If you can post a good photo of one of the rocker covers plan view end, side and inside I'll get a price from the foundry to cast say 10 sets and we will know a price per set before we go to far......
