How fussy is too fussy with tyres?

Just done the weekly check on my tyres. Im looking to replace three tyres. On the back axle both tyres are between 2mm and 3mm. So I will replace these.

However a third tyre on the front, has a slight nick in the sidewall. Like when you get a paper cut and you can flick the skin. Only slight mind. This tyre still has 4mm. However I'm about to place an order for the three as this doesn't sit right with me. Which means I may as well replace the four.

No internals are showing. I just like to be safe. Or am I being too sensitive?

Just get two new rears, a sidewall nick should be ok if it is as minor as you describe. Unless you can afford to do all 4 and want to. Only you can decide...

Cool. Thats how I felt, but just wondered if I was being too cautious. Now I think about it, stupid question and I didn't need to ask.

To be honest, if I were you I wouldn't be ordering any tyres... But if I do get new tyres, it's always in axle pairs.

If you have a full-size spare with a new tyre, I'd be inclined to utilise that tyre and put one of your 2-3mm tyres on that rim.

Take to a decent tyre place & they will put your mind at ease one way or the other.
