Anyone involved with camera work (video)?

Having a conversation with some friends over the weekend and it was brought to light a friend of a friend works as a freelance (I'm presuming) camera operator earning what I would call good money.

Got me thinking really as I've recently been made redundant and am keen to find something a bit different.

Anyone care to offer any input (yes I could ask him- but don't want to put friends noses out of joint for discussing money etc etc blah blah)
