If you get an S6 RR that was done prior to uprated finger followers and valve guides being available, you'll have no reliability benefit over a normal S6 engined car.
If you got a normal S6 and had it upgraded now, then yes, the problems would go away... cos they'd use new-spec finger followers and valve guides (I'd remind them specifically to replace the existing ones for you, mind).
Performance of the RR S6 is pretty much guaranteed 390BHP+ now. It's "more of the same" compare to a normal S6. The RR AJP I drove wasn't so much "more of the same" compared to my 4.2. It was more like "more of everything".
RR AJP felt faster than RR S6. But with the option of retrofitting the supercharger to the S6 when it's finally available, I know which I'd put money on in a straight line shoot-out...
