Hi! Towman!! Hope you're OK. Been to Europe recently, through france, Belgium,Germany,Czech Rep, Austria,Germany, Belgium, France.

Had to make this post though because of one thing that I know you will appreciate.

Comming out of Vienna past Salzburg, two lanes only, I'm towing in 1st lane, in rear view mirror - Two long flashes from car behind in 2nd lane to car in front overtaking in 2nd lane, car screams up to 4" of rear bumper of said car and 'nurfs! it out of the way!

OK so far I suppose, Standard European Driving. But on the side doors of the overtaking BMW was: "BMW DRIVER TRAINING" in ENGLISH!!!

God!! I wish I had It on film!

It really isn't a steriotype! It's NOW official!!

Sadly the BMW driver training school exists. Right next to Munich airport. Nice to know they teach this sort of stuff tho`. Must suggest it to the Scania school.

Thought you'd appreciate it towman! Thing is the Austrians are worse than the S/Germans! They REALLY Do need another 3rd lane though! it's getting ridiculous there now. Our M/ways by the way, re: middle lane hoggers? I say: What the F*** is wrong with 70 mph for everyone! I DO NOT see a problem...... do you?

I tow a caravan!!!! I'll tell you all now,70mph!!! PIECE OF PISS!!!..80mph.... easy!! 90?? no problem! 100+ yes in Europe I've done it! for thousands of miles over many years. 60? YOU'RE ing Joking? Don't blame the Caravaner!!! It's the bloody Law that's to blame!

If you want to stop middle lane hogging, make it 70mph for EVERYONE, ....NO PROBLEM!!!!

Couldn`t agree more mate. When I first did recovery, I had a Range Rover & Trailer (SFH 211L Gawd bless `er). Cheap fuel, no cameras, understanding cops. Regularly did three figures on the motorway (with the trailer loaded), so quite right, no problem. HOWEVER - I have been out to umpteen rolled caravans where the driver didnt know how to load it properly, so unfortunately speed limit is still not low enough to keep the morons safe( do we care, do we b*llocks!)

Dead right Steve! Loading is ALL! .. I Don't like the move to SHORT Wheelbase 4WD's for caravan work, I think it's wrong!! LONG wheelbase RWD cars are far better! Proven if you dare to increase speed.
