Limiting width of forum pages

Would it be in any sense possible to have a flag in one's personal preferences to specify "line wrap at 750 pixels width" or whatever? It's a right pain when someone posts a long URL or a wide picture, and reading the thread requires lots of sideways scrolling. Especially on 800x600.
