I've got a nice Game stew in the slow cooker but I need a good recipe for dumplings.

Any suggestions?

The one on the back of the Atora packet always worked for me.

Yeah it works fine.
For game stew, add a little freshly chopped rosemary to the mix before adding water.

Fishtigua,

I like the idea of game stew. Do you have the recipe? I have never used a slow cooker before?

I find a little more suet and a little less flour makes them fluffier.

I've just had supper and the dumplings worked fantastically well. I had no self-raising, just plain flour so just added a pinch of baking powder and bicarb, dried mixed herbs, salt & pepper and the chopped rosemary to the suet.

I packed the stew out with autumnal root veg and squashes, so with the herby dumplings, it had a really earthy flavour.

Thanks to all of you and second helpings with horseradish added for tomorrow. lick
