Does anyone have any first hand experience with these F1 car driving outfits? I know this has been covered before but I'm damned if I can find it using search. The one you hear most about is the AGS outfit at circuit du Var near St Tropez http://www.drive-a-formula-1.com/drive-a-formula-1... Anyone tried this one? I'm looking for the F1 equivalent of the Jonathan Palmer Palmersport days ie no stupid rev limits or other pussy rules. I'm pretty price insensitive since this is pretty much the only must-do on my bucket list. Not so price insensitive that I'll buy one of these things and run it myself mind..

Thanks!

You could try this....

I did this about 2 years ago and I have to say it was very good. The only down side is the track is small for an F1 car and the weather we had was awful, but the experience was amazing.

If you want to experiance an F1 car etc then this would be a good choice, but if you want to drive one fast fast then maybe the other links might be better.

good luck.

You're in luck, because I did the experience day at Three Sisters a few years ago in the Forti Corse and I'm taller than you and fitted comfortably (although the airbox couldn't see much air). My advice to anyone considering an F1 experience is to JFDI. You won't be disappointed as the performance is epic, even with no corners fast enough to make the aero work properly. The performance is completely otherworldly and nothing I've ever been in has ever come remotely close. The F3 car doesn't even register on the scale. Dry weather would make it better though as the traction control is aggressive, so less intrusion from it would be appreciated!

It's £1599 these days, but I got to drive a Mini Cooper S rather than an Aston and a Ferrari when it was cheaper, so you can see where the money's gone!

This place is just a karting track (yes, I have been there) and if you want to get a proper F1 experience I'd go to the one in the south of France - was brilliant when I visited.

Three Sisters is a bit more than a karting track, but it's still tight and the do race karts there (and bikes) as well as sprints and experience days. There's no doubting that you'll get much more speed at the French experience days, but the cheapest are 50% more expensive and that doesn't include getting there. I was told that nobody ever gets out of the F1 car disappointed and I know exactly why. Before I drove the F1 I thought I'd wasted my cash as the F3 car wasn't very fast and the F1 car couldn't be that much better. But it was. There's always something better, but in my experience, the only people who slate the cheaper end of the spectrum are those who've never done it. If you're happy to spend £2500+, then go to the south of France and have fun. If you've only got £1600, then head to Three Sisters or Rockingham. You won't regret it, but you will want to do it again and I can assure you that you'll be scouring the classifieds to find out just how much an F1 car costs to buy and run.
