I had a bright idea and thought I'd polish up my spark plug cover.
Tried Nitromors and some heavy grade stripper from work, to no avail. Took it down to my local powdercoating shop and got them to shot blast it.

Good news is all the paint is now off.

Bad news is that the surface now resembles a foot scrubber!

Can I as a mere mortal get this back to a mirror finish with a drill and some sanding disks? Or am I going to have to bite the bullet and get it recoated?

Bugger, Buggering, buggery!!....

Just take your time and work down the grades of sanding discs (do they go fine enough for the finish you want? you might have to finish it by hand), if you want a mirror finish it will take ages.
