I have found my roof is leaking after washing the car today. It looks like the leak is between the targa top and the soft drop down rear at the point were the two meet. Should there be a rubber seal in place? mine does'nt appear to have one. When i look on Racetech website, or others for that matter, there is an option to but targa roof seals but as iI dont seem to have any I am not sure which I would buy. Any of you guys have any photos handy of roof rubbers in place. names/part numbers would also be a great help. Thank you.

smile Tri2Tri, the targa panel should have a rubber seal on each side above the door windows. The folding rear section should have a rubber seal that runs from one side of the car to the other around the hoop. I think the seal is the same as those that run around the door and windscreen, but someone may correct me on this.

GJR....Thats the one I am missing by the looks of it, the rubber one around the hoop. The door top ones are looking shabby so I will replace those Do any seals fit to the rear of the targa itself(Sorry DonkeyApple).

wink

Re the targa, it's a long time since I had one but I do recall a black seal embedded in the leading edge of the targa hood.

Racing Green has two seals listed
Roof targa seal, Part No TVR V0158
and
Roof targa seal, Part No TVR V0582

No doubt you are as confused as I am, having looked at those links, as to which is which or what is what.
However, the boys in the parts shop have a book with pictures to help them if/when they are uncertain, and I am sure they will be happy to tell you which one you want if you call them.

I buy mine from Woolies in Peterborough. They usualy have a stall at the NEC classic car show. Not much help to match it without one though. They do have a catalogue which you could compare with another owner.

you need this one for the rear hoop section, it's the same as the door/windscreen seal:

or the same from Woolies or elsewhere.

Great stuff. Ordered the seal from Racing Green today. I had a quote for a new carpet interior fitted at £575 does that sound about right?

Glad you got that one sorted out.
At the risk of telling grandma how to suck eggs; remember to seal the roof with some waterproofing (I've always used Autoglym). Even near-new these roofs would develop tiny leaks that can cause a minor disaster.

Carpet price sounds good to me.
It truly depends upon from who, where, and the choice of materials IMO.
I remember my original dealer quoting around £900 for a new carpet set from TVR, (not fitted), 10 years ago.

A local(ish) top notch trimmer recently quoted me £850 fitted, for "better than original" all wool, but 'like original'.
They do some truly impressive work on some very high end cars, so I assume they charge a small premium based upon their reputation.

Others will no doubt tell you it can be had a bit cheaper, but your price sounds to me to be in the same ballpark as other people's 'good deals'.

Thanks Goaty. Just ordered the renovo kit from ATC so I will be applying that next weekend. The price of the carpet refit was from dave the trimmer in Milton Keynes so that's the one I will be choosing, unless there is a better suggestion?
