Obiously dependant on the good old british weather! but planning to go- if only for the pitch & putt golf! not decided if on 2 wheels or in 4 just yet.

I reckon I can make that if the weathers fine (and if its not ill stick my waterproofs on )

How many miles will be covered? Just wondering if i can hack several hours in the saddle as a newbie

Also not sure I want all these fellow PHers to see me in my Streaky Bacon gear (full leathers)

To be honest Dave, cars & bikes in a 'spirited driving' convoy never the best mix anyway, better to either make ya own way there or join up with a bike group from here if a few are going.

I could be up for that. I'll talk to the wife and see if we have anything planned.

It'd be cool if some of you two-wheel-enthusiasts could make it along. As to "convoy"...its really what you make of it...we won't be driving like loons I assure you...

But since I am rapidly approaching my mid-life crisis I'd *really* like to take a close look at yer bikes...

As my brother said to me "39, 39, 39, 39..."

Basically what he (Alex) means is that he gets carried away and doesn't want a repeat of his out of control wheelie across the nose of a ferrari...

LOL

Alex - I thought that too, but then I doubt they'd stick with us for long unless the roads are empty

Im up for a PH bike convoy if one is being arranged.

Excellent!

If you chose to do this route it takes 2 hours.
We are stopping halfway to meet others at the Seven Stars pub in Stroud.

The route we are taking often has a lot of bikes on it but there are also loads of other great routes in this area.

See you all there for the hockey tournament... I mean golf (well, its all the same when you have a 100 handicap!).

Ahh well, set of lights, dern & I looking at my map, gorgious 550 pulls alongside on the left blipping his engine & fella inside smileing & giving us & then the lights the nod.

So message quite loud & clear, dern on the blade hunkers forward & gets ready to go while I franticly try & stuff my map back in my tank bag before the lights go green so I can show Mr 500 ish bhp Ferrari what acceleration is all about

So light goes green, the howl of a blade canned hard is in the air as dern fecks off like a rocket, closely followed by the muted roar of a v12 550 & im still not ready yet! so BOSH! in a milisecond I close the tank bag zip & smash it into gear, wack open throttle full beans & don't climb forward enough & WAYHAY!! up pops the front & I wobble my overtake past Mr Ferrari in a lovely totally uncontroled wheelie

Ice cool huh

Next lights dern pi$$ing himself as hes seen it all in his mirrors & Mr Ferrari is chuckeing away too.

LMAO!! Very nice.

Mines definatley down on power then - ive tried sitting back a bit and whacking the throttle open and the front doesnt leave the ground.

If we both go to this pie on the beach thing, ill let you have a go on mine and tell me what you think.

Dave im out at a dinner party on the sat night Andover way & knowing what im like when alcohol is involved there is no way I'd be up & at Basingstoke for 9am meet anyway!

So not sure if to take bike to the dinner party & then go direct to the beach or come home first, I shall ponder.

Drop me a mail thro profile & we can sort somat out no doubt & maybe get together with dern too if hes going as he just lives round the corner to me.

We are also meeting at the Seven Stars pub in Stroud at 11ish.
OR if thats too early we'll just see you at the beach.

BTW: A very bike friendly route from B'stoke would be A339, A32, A272 to Seven Stars and then a faster blast along the A3 A27 to Hayling.

But you already knew that!

I may make it... See what the weather is doing!

If I do I'll make me own way to the Petersfield meet and then gently meander from there!

Could be good though... Bike will like it
