I was very impressed with a car called Trident ,the V8 engine has 660bhp and maximum torque to 1,050 lb-ft

This car can do 68.9 mpg

Would there be any pit falls with a diesel in a sports car .
The British automaker quotes a zero to 60mph sprint time of just 3.7 seconds and a top speed nearing 200mph (320km/h).

No thanks Daz confused the only time when Diesel should come into contact with a Sports car is to un-seize a stubborn fastner or remove tar stains hehe

What about an old Cerb with a Merc 300TD engine plumbed to a truck turbo? I've not checked out wether claims of 400bhp are nonsense. Holset rings a bell here.

An auto box and run it on used vegetable oil and it would be an economical commuter car hehe.

Looks like a cross between a Griff and a Tuscan to me.

So, if you met a bloke with a diesel engined TVR what would you say/do?

a) Be very interested and want to look at it/know what power output/mpg/etc etc?
b) Tell him in no uncertain terms that you disaprove and how wrong it is (and why)
c) Ignore him completely, it's bloody sacrilege to put a diesel in a TVR and he's obviously a knob
d) Punch him in the face because it'll make you feel better (and he's obviously a knob)
e) Tell him he's a knob and walk away muttering all the expletives you can think of

It's an interesting concept. If you look at some of the mordern 6 and 8 cyl Diesel engines aside from noise they really are exceptional.

Whilst I love my Chim, the 640d is probably just as quick, if not quicker in almost all situations, whilst still returning me a minimum of 40mpg - imagine what the performance would be like in a car weighing a ton!
