Sorry if this thread is repeating an existing one, but we're thinking of buying this Panasonic Viera 32in 3d TV:

I've seen it working in John Lewis, seems to have a superb picture, and hopefully decent sound with the optional soundbar.
JL does the set for £549 with four pairs of passive 3D specs, or £429 without the specs:

Oddly they don't refer to this cheaper one as a 3D telly, even though it's the same model number (TX-L32E5B).
Question is, if it is the same TV, is £30 a pair the right price to be paying for passive 3D specs?

It's not the same model number - the 3D one includes a 'T' for 3D! smile

ETA: I didn't really explain very well - what I mean is that the 'T' set is different AFAIK - it's not just that the package is bundled with the glasses!

Ah. Wish they just called tellies simple names like Gloria or Neville instead of these huge serial numbers.

Indeed... and then there's the complication that they do different model numbers specifically for some large shops (sometimes with reduced connectivity - e.g. fewer HDMI ports) to make price comparisson over the web more difficult! frown

I got a Panasonic TX-L32ET5B last week and really can't fault it. Passive 3d is good for family viewing cos the specs a cheap as chips...just the same ones you have at the cinema.

Snap, but unfortunately I can fault my TX-L32ET5B - the picture is stupidly dark. And the fixer man who's just been round agrees. Hopefully it's a fault on this set as the ones I've seen in store seem excellent.
