I've only seen one road legal F1 car, and as I recall it was in Japan.

Oh right, so it's not the engine that's the issue now?

Doubt it weighs much more than a Caterham, if at all.

It looks like it'd be a blast to me, for all manner of reasons, and bodged together or not. (Although how you've made that judgement I'm not sure, but I'll defer to your better judgement on this since you seem to know all about it)
