At long last I have managed to get the bonnet to stay closed at speed, but now the boot is popping open at speed on tracks! I got black flagged at Spa for my innovative 'air brake'. It seems to close properly and I can lift the car an inch or so using the boot lip, so presumably it's either chassis/body twist or the catch is operating electrically. Has anyone had similar and managed to fix it?

If your badge is a bit floppy it is probably closing the switch under heavy braking. Not had my badge off but mine is stiff smile - there is probably a spring behind it, maybe yours is missing?

There are two springs behind the badge. Either one is missing and the badge is clipping the switch under heavy braking, or the badge maybe too close to the switch itself? I know when I refurbed my badge, I adjusted it a little too close and it was activating the switch over bumps.

My guess would be the boot catch isn't quite locking when fastened eiter due to a weakened spring or poor adjustment meaning it's not properly latching and that combined with twist under heavy braking/cornering is allowing the boot to pop open?

When it happened to me, I found some bits of leaf and such caught behind the catch, which meant it was prone to opening itself when the car flexed...

Thanks - that sounds like mine as it too is very tight. Just have to work out how to disassemble.
