Toyota Rav 4 faltering when hot
Discussion
I have a Toyota Rav 4 that has been jump started by a bin lorry (24v)
Since this was done it now has a fault as it comes up to full temperature it falters quite badly to the point that it will not go past 2000rpm, it feels like a crude rev limiter!
The car runs perfectly from cold but as the engine temperature rises the the faltering happens at say 3500 when the engine temperature is just starting to rise then as the temperature rises the faltering happens at lower engine revs, so the engine temperature seams to have a bearing on it.
We have changed the engine ECU and both ignition coil packs but the fault is still there.
The car does not have a modern diagnostic plug so we are struggling to get to the bottom of this problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
