V12 Vantage Recall - TPMS

Just came across this article - is this a problem only for North American models or are all V12V's affected?

Or you could just look at your tyres ? That's how most people work out if they have a flat.

Agreed. I've disabled my TPMS...too annoying, esp if you want to run on the low side to improve the ride, then it is always setting a flag until the tyres warm up.

How did you disable your tpms, changing to winter wheels soon and didn't bother spending £400 extra on the sensors.

According to inside line it affects all V12V's built. According to the article there have been 1,098 sold worldwide and 169 in the USA.

The fix is the the software needs reprogramming but as yet no date set for the recall. Don't understand that last bit.

I had a call on Friday from my dealer inviting me to come for the software upgrade...
So it looks it is all V12V.

Au sujet de TPMS......has anyone else's just been activated ????

Mine told me yesterday that I needed to check the tyre pressures - exactly the same time as last year !!

I obviously waited until today when my tyres had cooled down from my overly aggressive driving....and it was correct. All four were below 2.5 bar, the front two by quite a bit.

Could it be the cold weather

When we had a bit of nippy spell about 3 weeks ago, one of mine came on. It was the coldest we'd had since I bough it, so that must caused it I assume.

Do they also indicate if the pressure is too high I wonder ?

With a target pressure of 2.5 bar front and 2.6 bar rear, I'm not sure Adrian what the actual running pressure is anyway - I assume it increases as the tyre warms up

Phil, started wondering just how it worked regarding a target pressure. There is no temperature sensor, so it can't compensate for that. When I started pumping the tyre up I did start thinking what happens if I over inflate the tyre ?

It really should indicate the target pressure, +/- a percentage tolerance. I think I may well have started to over analysis it !! (Anyone would think I'm a Control Systems Software Engineer !)

One assumes the advised pressure takes any increase into consideration when being set.

Not sure if the Vantage is different but I had to consult my Manual for my pressure figures - I could've sworn they were visible somewhere else

Your eloquent rebuff has forced me to go on to the driveway in my dressing gown and open the car. As suspected the measurements are stuck to the inside of the door itself.

Is there any other manufacturer that puts them there rather on the inside of the door frame ??

I had to look in the handbook to find out what they are. Isn't that the usual place ?
