Langans Brasserie
Discussion
Was fortunate to be taken to Langhams tonight for dinner. Arrived and greeted by smart attentive waiters and after a quick drink went to our table, room was completely full.
Pre dinner drinks
Me: Peroni
Mrs: Perrier
Colleague: G & T
Food:
Starter
Me : Field mushrooms with bacon and cheese 6/10
Mrs: Red onion & goats cheese tart 6/10
Colleague: Same as me
Mains
Me : Confit of duck with rocket 5/10
Mrs: Poached smoked Haddock with scallion mash and mustard sauce 6/10
Colleague: Same as the Mrs
Dessert
Me: Chocolate brownie & vanilla ice cream 6/10
Mrs: Strawberry pavlova 7/10
Colleague: Same as the Mrs
1/2 litre of house red
1/2 litre of house white
My overall impression was VERY average indeed. Gastropub quality but at £230 inc tip for that lot not exactly gastropub prices. Wanted to go to Langhams for a while but certainly wont be returning.

I've been to langan's on and off since the mid 80's when it was sill in ownership of Peter Langan, I was never impressed with the food, it was always in my opinion only slightly better than Joe Allen's, It was and still is simple brasserie food, In those days it was still a novelty and we didn't have all the Gastro Pubs etc, that you have now. Now you are spoilt for choice.
