Car limits - does anybody know if there is an equivalent in the West Midlands?

Yup, I can thoroughly recommend the driver development days run by Carolyn Barker at the Prodrive site in Warwick.

They tailor the use of an adverse handling circuit, wetted skid pans and the large open high speed circuit across the day depending on where your development needs are.

I attended the last one and learned a hell of a lot from Carolyn herself. Not sure who they have instructing at the next one but now the season's over it may be her son, Ben Barker, who has just put in a great season in the Carrera Cup.

The next one is running this Tuesday, I would be on it but work commitments don't allow.

Hi,

I can't say enough about Carolyn (Who has taught me so much) and Driver DP!

I've been 5 or 6 times in the last two years as its 15 minutes from my house. In a nutshell...Full day of fun based on a 2:1 instruction ratio...3 tracks...High speed tower circuit, wet grip area's...one wetted doughnut ring...one straight basalt tile road for skid and drift control...The last track is adverse handling for learning the visual, accuracy and technical side of driving/racing.

Posted up a pic of my fav bit which is wet grip!! So much fun!



+1 on Ben Barker and his racing team mate Chris Dymond. I've had the pleasure of their racing experience at Driver DP!

Google Warwick Pro Drive Track. Think its the old RAF Honily air base.

The RX-8 owners club used to run days at Prodrive. Good facility, good fun. We didn't do the kind of over-limit on grippy surfaces stuff that Car Limits do, but I guess that's up to the instructor, I'm sure there are places on the big circuit where you could safely risk losing the car.
