Womens road bike c£650

Hi,

My sister is interested in starting duathalons and as such needs a bike, I said I would help but not really up on road bikes so I thought it would put it out to you lot then hopefully we can go and have a look at some next week.....

So budget is no more than £650, I am going to buy her the SPDs as a gift.

My wife had a Giant, but Trek also do Women's Specific Design (WSD) bikes. Check Cannondale too at that budget.

Have found a Cannondale Synapse 7 Sora Compact in budget so far, will look at Boardman......

A friend has a Boardman and its a lovely bit of kit

Trek / Cannondale / Boardman plus the other big name is Specialized (Dolce/Ruby).

Or, depending on the shape of the rider she may find men's bikes perfectly fine. Woman-spec bikes tend to have a shorter reach ('effective top tube') but if she's a long-limbed sporty type (or bendy) she may not find the extra stretch a problem.
