Notice handed in, boss insists on being difficult
Discussion
Every verbal agreement we had prior to me handing in my notice is now void.
Working from a home on a Friday as agreed? Forget about it. Worked at home once in my notice period as formally agreed, get a phone call saying I've insulted him, I know what I've done etc, saying if I didn't want to do a full handover (a full and professional handover was agreed and is being carried out) I could just clear my desk on Monday. Other workers are allowed to work at home with no problem. Is this discrimination? In all my years at the company I've never been spoken to in this manner.
I know they say to never burn bridges but I feel as though they have already done this in there mind with me? I feel like I need to tell this guy to f
k himself and he can't talk to me in that fashion.
How can I professionally deal with this guys? I am so angry and disappointed.

The way to avoid burning bridges is to be professinal, if they want you in on a Friday for a few weeks, just do it and dont whinge while you are there. Do not give them a whiff on an excuse to slander you about a smooth handover. Once tempers have cooled down so long as you kept your cool and behave irreproachably you will find it actually increases your old bosses respect for you.

I'm inclined to agree with this. Except the spelling.smokey145 said:
it could be all of the above, .
So you are a black overweight disabled lesbian?I assume they are just very disappointed that thier full tick-list of equal opportunities employees is walking out of the door in one go.
On a serious note, it strikes me that they are clearly angry about something there. There is nothing to gain from being awkward to someone who is leaving.
I would ask them if I were you.
when the office is 2 hours away from home and you have had prior agreements to work from home on a friday (and work is being done, probably more productive at home then on site) then yes, i would suggest that is a hardship or inconveniance. there are others that have the same arrangements to which there is no issue.
and the working from home is not the only thing in this seperation that has sour. many verbal agreements, payments of outstanding monies etc has not been stood by. i know this is the norm when you move on but it shouldnt be. very disapppointed.

Rise above it, take the higher moral ground.
You are going on to bigger better things (I assume), and your Boss isn't and probably needs to buck up his act to do his job now as you are no longer his dog.
Once he gets over the novelty of you being compliant and crossing every T and dotting the I's he will get over it, and calm will ensue.
If not - so be it, its only time until you are outta there.
Oh and raid the stationary cupboard.

definately putting it into perspective i am moving on to bigger and better things, but you would never for a moment think you would be treated like this after as many great years ive had here, turned so sour over some prick with an authority complex that doesnt like to be defied. pathetic.
Take him outside and tell him he's being a f
king prick and that if he doesn't wind his neck in you'll go sick and claim stress and will just be the start of a legal case he won't want. So we can either do this the easy or hard way, your choice.
Its not the right way but you're leaving what's he going to do? Hell hate having a battle and will just want it sorted no matter how much he fronts you. Then you leave and its over.

Have you got nothing in writing about this at all?? Anything you could start a Small Claim over??Working the Fridays in the office is a bit of a w
k, but its only for 4 weeks to suck it up, be professional and just look forward to getting out of Dodge.mondeoman said:

This.Remember, you are out of there. He still has to work there and now has your s
t to deal with as well
Perhaps a mental note that this sort of behaviour, or the possibility or it, is one of the reason you are walking.
Advice? Don't do verbal agreements. Other than that, do as required contractually to avoid being had for breach of contract - sounds like his back's up.
If you feel unfairly done by then if there's a grievance procedure, as there most likely is, you're still able to start it.
Failing that, ask for his verbal agreement about finishing Monday in writing and do that.
