DSA Last minute cancelled driving test

My daughter turned up for her driving test this morning (15th Oct), only to be told it was cancelled, she could take it tomorrow, because the examiner was sick. Besides being extremely upset as you can imagine, with an 18yr sitting her test, having previously failed it to a very hard decision (according to me and her instructor), she (me) are now out of pocket to the cost of the (now) cancelled return rail ticket to Portsmouth University today, plus the extra booking she's got to make with the driving instructor, who's also pretty dammed annoyed. Circa £150. I was wondering if I could make a claim against the DSA, who make it plain on their website, that a cancelation by my daughter less than 3 days before her test would result in her losing her exam fee.

Thanks for that. I'd already done that. After listening to about a dozen 'instruction' after pressing lots of numbers, I got a recorded voice saying everyone was busy, and couldn't answer my call. I tried 6 times and eventually gave up. Maybe the DSA ought to pop along to the jobe Centre, and recruit a few more call centre operatives.

Its a pain in the backside, but at the end of the day sometimes people are ill. What do you expect the DSA to do about it?

If your unused train ticket is an open one you can get a refund on it

Reimburse the person who has paid for a service but not recieved it.
