I think I have seen comments about difficulty in getting reverse gear on the 5 speed gearboxes, is there any remedy without replacing the offending item.

Usually caused by clutch drag.

Try bleeding the clutch first.

Try putting into 5th gear before reverse

For some reason, mine isn't too keen on either 1st or reverse. Two things helped. 1, pulling the carpet away from the pedal so that the clutch was fully depressed, and 2, selecting either 5th or 4th first then either reverse or 1st. WH did explain why to me, but I had a bit of a blonde moment and the details elude me. It works though..
