TV Power Supply - compatible?

Just went out and picked up a figure 8 power supply for my new TV as the one supplied was too short.

They both say 2.5A 240v but I notice the one I've just bought has a 3 amp fuse whereas the one that came with the TV has a 13 amp fuse.

Now seeing as I know nothing at about electricity I seek the guidance of the good people of PH....

Can I use this cable? Should I switch the fuses over?

If the cord is rated 2.5A, the 3A fuse is fine.

So how come Samsung supplied a 13 amp fuse with the TV?
