Evening all,
I'm just looking for advice, kind words anything really, venting as well I guess,
The story starts like this.
Around 3 months ago I moved away from my family with my girlfriend to South Wales(where she's from) no problem there, she started college and so I was sat here on my own bored and skint every day, deciding I would come off the dole and get a job!
I got a job in a call centre in south wales(anyone around Newport, Cwmbran way will possibly know the sh**hole I mean) worked there for five weeks while friends I had made were dropping like flies around me, then Friday just gone I put my headset on and began work as usual, one of the big bosses was stood next to me shouting instructions at my team and swearing, it got picked up by my microphone and I got sacked with gross misconduct, I am currently appealing and have been to the argus about it as I was instructed to by co workers that got sacked too, fast forward until now, I can't sign on until I get a job for 26 weeks(don't really want to go back there anyway) I've applied for shed loads of jobs since I got sacked and been for one interview, this has caused stress between me and my girlfriend, I want to see my family but can't because I'm not even sure I have enough to pay my bills, so I'm literally up sh*t creek without a paddle, I know other people's lives are hard and I'm not saying mine is any more so, I feel for the families that lose a child to cancer or their son doesn't come home from Afghanistan, also the poor family of little April jones, I'm not a martyr feeling sorry for myself, if you think I am then tell me, I just don't know what to do, I'm getting thoughts of ending everything and just going somewhere alone and just not being in contact with anyone, I just don't know what to do!
Help!!! frown

To whom exactly are you 'appealing'?

My suggestion would be to take a trip to the Citizens Advice Bureau and see what they say about the grounds for your dismissal.

CAB will help you with the employment issues. Probably best to get any job, regardless of pay though - working is always better for you than signing on.

There's not a lot in this world worth killing yourself for, and life does generally improve. You can always call Samaritans if you're feeling desperate and as fed up as you say. It's OK to feel bad: most people go through lousy patches in their life, and this sounds like yours.

Try to take each issue at a time and work out some solutions. Problems are always worse when we see them as a huge mass of trouble. smile

I'm not sure that I understand how when doing your job and your boss starts swearing and it's recorded that you get the sack?

OP, just to clarify:-

- Supervisor was swearing at person/persons in the background.
- This was picked up by your microphone/headset.
- Someone else (customer?) thought you were the one swearing & complained.
- It was your word against the supervisors & they didn't believe you.

Is this right?

If you got given your cards for that then that's diabolical.

I have just had an utterly st day, cold, wet and pretty much everything I tried to do today was around 50% harder than it needed to be.

So, you are not alone, everone has st times and it is your attitude while you are having a st time that will help you or hinder you.

So, Chin up, you will beat the unfair dismissal but you need to fight, kick up utter fk, keep being a fking pest about it to as many people as will listen. Hell, you might even get some money out of it and that will sort one of the problems out for a bit.

As for a job, play the system, re-train, get the bloody dole office to pay for you to go on a course, you need to ask the right questions in places like that as they won't offer you fk all.

Big changes in life happen in tiny steps.

Sounds like your girlfriend is young if she has just started college, so I assume you aren't much older. Sack it off and move back home. You'll be happier and you'll quickly find someone else

When you say 'ending everything' do you mean topping yourself? Or just finishing with the missus and clearing off?

If the former, I'd recommend you get some professional help pdq and I mean tonight not tomorrow.
Samaritans?

I you're just feeling a bit low, well it happens to us all at one time or another. How about taking a week out of your busy schedule in Wales and going back home to your family and friends for a few days? Truth is, if you get down to the itty gritty, there's masses in the country who are in a similar position. Doesn't make it right, but may help you see that not all is greener over the other side of the fence.

It's a stty time of year coming up, but get some work sorted, even if it is a bit crap. If y

Can get somewhere with a few lads or lasses all the better, warehouses, factories etc, may be boring at times, but can be a great laugh at times and helps when things get a bit crap to have a few mates.

Have you considered further education yourself?

Truth is, that things can be a bit st for everyone and you never know what the next day may bring. But hang in there, same way as bad st can happen at the drop of a hat, so can good st.

A few of my old school friends worked at yes loans (i'm guessing its this place?) and tbh i think getting sacked from there is a good thing!. Sure it would have been nice to have another job lined up instead but these things happen. If i was you i would let it go and try hard to find a new job. Easier said than done in this area i admit. If you need the cash and want a job instead of a career then try applying to the new morrisons opening in cwmbran, they're employing at the moment. p.s always happy to go out for a drink if you want to meet new people.

You are not alone in how you feel, most have felt like it at some point. Have a chat with your girlfriend about it, it will put a starin on your relationship otherwise.

Keep your head up mate.
