OK, it's my turn to post one. Suddenly noticed today that I'm not getting any air out of the left-hand dashboard vent. I tried the up/down knob and that switched the air nicely from footwell to RH vent to screen - but nothing from the left-hand vent.

Any ideas?

I've just had the glove box out - in an attempt to fix my water valve, although mine was connected, I would suggest that you have a look behind your glove box and see if the air pipe is actually connected to the back of the vent - it wouldn't take much for this to become disconnected and fall of!

The air supply pipes are notorious for coming loose behind the dash area. I had mine off once and had to reconnect two of them. Air flow after that was quite impressive (shame about the temperature though..!)

I have had the pipe drop off several times. The back of the vent has a fabricated rectangular aluminium box on with a circular hole in the back. The air pipe fits into this hole and is located by friction alone. I have found that:

a. You can access this particular vent from the back via the glove box when it is open, or by removing the radio, if you have the correct tool, to avoid removing the dash.

B.The reason that this pipe kept coming out, in my case, was that the glove box was pushing on the air pipe as it was closed, thus working the pipe loose. I have now cable tied the air pipe out of the way and it seems to stay in place.

Hope this helps
