Places to eat / take a date in Brighton ?

I'm going on a date in brighton but have no idea where to eat..

My idea of eating out is getting mugged of with st food that you can cook yourself for a 10th of the price.
Probably just says more about where I eat than anything....

Anyway does anyone know some nice resteraunts where you can have a nice quite meal with a bottle of wine etc??

Also after I'm hoping to go back to her place but mabe stop at a nice bar somewhere not full of 18 year olds.

Anyone help me out ?

Was in Brighton the other week for an early start to the Goodwood Revival on Sunday, and we ate at this Indonesian restaurant. http://www.warungtujuh.com/. A small place with a nice upstairs, great friendly service and absolutely fantastic food.

Was working in Brighton a couple of weeks ago and we went to a really nice Greek place on the main road down to the sea from the station. Almost down the seaside end on the left. We were surprised as the street was full of p!%% heads and horrible clubs.

Wish I'd known about the Indonesian place mentioned earlier though

Anyway, had a very nice meal at Blenio recently, at Seven Dials. Drinks next door at the Tin Drum, or wander towards the station for any number of good pubs - Battle of Trafalgar, Sussex Yeoman, Lord Nelson, The Pond...

Assuming that's including wine, I'd recommend mange tout (french, good food and service) on trafalger st, moshi moshi is a good shout, but you can't reserve and sometimes isn't as good as it can be. Alternative cheap cafe restaurant is E Kagen (japanese, noodles dishes and sushi). Pho is a Vietnamese place, not expensive, more noodles, nice atmosphere.
There's loads more.
