Foolhardy cyclist ?

I think this guy was either foolhardy in that he was tempting me into passing him too closely or perhaps just arrogant and selfish. What do you guys think.

I HATE that. Should have given him a friendly horn beep at first and then stepped up. The thing is he seems completely unaware that you are there which if anything annoys me more....

most of the time he's riding well left of the normal riding position which indicates he was ready for you to pass when appropriate. Maybe your vehicle was too wide

If you had a faster car behind you would you stop for it?

He has every right to be riding there, didn't seem to put you at risk, held you up for a few moments. I don't personally see any issue (and I am not a lycra wearing bean eater).

Not that it made much difference but as others have said he was well left of the centre of the road.

Tbh depending how much of a rush I was in I reakon I wouldave put two wheels on the verge and had a go at passing him if I was desperate

If for some reason I was travelling considerably slower than other traffic behind me then, yes, I would.

It's called having good manners and being considerate. Things that seem to be in short supply these days where the 'I'm alright Jack' mindset prevails.

I'd have pulled over sooner if I was on the bike. Although I'd probably have avoided that road because there isn't a lot of space and too many blind corners for my liking, just takes the wrong kind of person coming the other way for that to go wrong.

Just watched the video on my phone so a smaller screen but he didnt appear to look behind him at any point.

Did the cyclist know there was a car behind him? We dont know if the OP beeped as he had music in the vid or if the cyclist had ear/headphones in.

He was practically riding on the verge.
It's clear that he was pulling over to let you pass and you chose not to. Normal position would be a couple of feet out.
If your car is so wide that you can't drive down that road and overtake a cyclist who is letting you pass then why drive down that tiny road in it at all?

This is why I would give him the benefit of the doubt and call foolhardy. The road is very narrow. If I had attempted to pass sooner I could easily have hit a drainage ditch or other uneven section of verge and the car might have lurched into him. He was relying on me to not be stupid.

Only thing i find offensive there is the Queen tribute act on your 1970s Motorola stereo
