RearSpeaker wires: how do you know if you have any
Discussion
This may seem an odd question, but the other week when I was cleaning the dash I decided to re seat the stereo as it was not as flush to the dash as I liked. When I removed the Stereo (head unit) which is a 4x50 Sony job, the connector block that disappears into the car has all the wires in place, but I could not figure were they go to.
Hence the question, anyone suggest a good place to look without having to dismantle the dash to see if the rear speaker cables attached to the connection block go anywhere, if they do it will save a whole lot of work routing some cables from the dash for rear speakers.
Thanks

Hi David
I just looked in my car last week and found rear speaker cabling installed even though I have no speakers fitted.
On the passenger side, pull away the velcro carpet flap that covers the door latch. Look in there for a set of thin wires leading into a white plastic connector block that looks the same as the one behind the radio.
Turn your radio on (not too loud) and if you have an old speaker lying around, just touch some wires to the connection. Mine stared producing sound.
Then its just a case of getting the vents out and fitting some rears with the appropriate spacers - these should be vented incidentally to allow some airflow out of the cabin.
If you choose some reasonable sized ones I reckon you will not need to hack anything about either - its on my list of things to do!
