Alarm going off continually with cover on
Discussion
Hi all.
I've popped a cover on the Tuscan today; with the current weather, there's still a water leak into the cabin which is soaking my (brand new!) carpets. Unfortunately as with most things TVR, it isn't that easy. With the cover on, even the slightest breeze is moving the cover sufficiently to set the alarm off. Has anybody experienced this before?

I am by no means clued up on the alarm system, but the other day I had to remove my alarm brain - the Meta M99 alarm box - and on the back is a little +/- adjustment for what I think is the sensor (it's marked "SENS.U.S")
Took about a minute to get out. I'll PM you where it is in case you don't know...

Ive had exactly the same problem the last two nights,
It has had the cover on for about a month with no problems, im presuming its the recent wind thats blowing it and the motion sensors are picking it up, is there a way to lock the car but disarming the interior sensors ??
Where did you get your cover from, i have a halfords all weather layered cover that was about £50,
I had it for my westfield and didnt expect it to fit the tuscan, but it fits a treat with no issues of water getting in.

Cockey's +/- theory certainly worked on my Tamora. I found the alarm would go off even if either garage door was closed too vigorously. A quick adjustment of the +/- screw did the trick.
If all else fails, speak to Carl Baker or the new guy who's recently set up on his own after leaving Meta. Can't recall his name off-hand, but he contacted TVR-CC ROs recently to announce his new venture. If you're stuck e-mail me as I have both sets of contact details in the house.
Neil.
Edited 30 seconds later to remove instructions for accessing the alarm brain. Doh!

Hey Cockey, I'm having the same problem and have searched for the location of the alarm box but haven't found it. Could you pm me the instructions,Took about a minute to get out. I'll PM you where it is in case you don't know...
Thank you,
Sam
Mine does too; apparently it's down to the car not completing its processes before you press the lock button, whatever these processes are. If you close the door, allow the window to go up to the top and then leave it a few seconds to settle, when you press the lock button you shouldn't get the beeps.
That's correct. If the LED next to the window up/down switch is still flashing when you lock the car (because you've just closed the door), the car will beep four times with four light flashes.
When holding the lock button on the keyfob down to disable the internal sensors, the third and fourth bleep/light flash is faster (smaller time interval) so that you know what you've done. Useful if on ferries.
