Help Needed! No Boooost!

I fitted a new boost solenoid to my MK4 golf tdi, before it was running a bit lumpy now i have fitted the new part there is no boost at all, just flat all the way through. You can still hear the turbo whistle a little bit when i change gear but its as flat as a fart.
Can anyone help me on this? What i have i done wrong!?

Did you use a hammer to fit it on?

Is the actuator working?
