How long did it take to bond with your new car?

Quite a general question.
How long did it take for you to 'bond' with your new car?
A few years ago I had an old Porsche which I loved...bonded straight away dispite its pitfalls.
Then bought a prelude with 18k miles, absolutely as new. Bonded straight away.
In the summer bought an E92, Spotless. I really appreciate the car, but haven't bonded yet. Perhaps due to certain impracticalities and/or certain 'incidents' that took place.
Did you ever buy what you considered an expensive/decent car that you didnt bond with? Fall in love with a total snotter?

Interesting question. Back in July I sold my Alfa Romeo 156 GTA which I'd had from new for 8 years, loved that car. Replaced it with an Audi RS4 - awesome car, but as yet, not bonded with it, like you say. I just can't seem to drive it smoothly, jerky gear changes and I keep stalling it in reverse for some reason. Hopefully it will come in time...

Nice comparison.My wheels are huge, super low profile expensive tyres, the doors are huge and the glass stabs me in the tit, getting in and out is a pain, EGR is sticky, someone stole my bonnet badge, very hard ride. Silly things really, great car but nervous about leaving it in random places, tight car parks, cant drive up kerbs,...etc

My 528i was within seconds of seeing it. It looked amazing sat on the drive.
Getting in it was great, even being driven around for a test drive (step dad driving, I wasn't insured) I had a huge smile on my face.
Starting it up for the first time and reversing off the drive I haven't smiled that much in ages.
The drive home was amazing, went the long way.
My other cars, my Punto I was just happy to have a car. My Focus, I wished I didn't buy it on the way home.

Do you have a favourite chair, pen, suit or tie? Bond, meaning feeling good about it. Since I bought my Leon Cupra I've been comparing it to my old, now for sale, 306 gti6 and so far it has left me a little cold. It feels so remote and cosseting and detached compared to my old car. It's far more comfortable, does better mpg, is quieter but feels like its not connected to me. I have no doubt I will warm to it soon enough but it just feels so different at the moment.

It took me a long time to bond with the Alfa, in terms of getting comfortable driving it. The steering was very sensitive even around straight ahead, so much so that motorway lane changes felt more like an application of pressure rather than an actual movement of the wheel. On my first drive home in the car every lane change was a swerve, not what you'd expect from a rack that is four turns lock to lock! Then there was the heavy clutch, the 40DCOEs that dumped an overdose of fuel into the cylinders if you were too harsh with the throttle at low revs, and the infamous gear change. It took me a long time to get comfortable with the car, and discover the reason for that odd Italian driving position (it works best with a relaxed demeanour casually holding the bottom half of the wheel) but I bonded with it like nothing else since.
The Note, I bonded with immediately on the test drive. It felt instantly comfortable and all the major controls are judged and weighted just as I'd want them, and even the auto gearbox didn't annoy me. No, seriously, it's a nice car to drive. Stop laughing, you lot in the back.

I understand, but if you lost it, and couldn't find it, would you be upset? (Other than cost of replacement)Bought my 182 from a guy 3 miles away from my house.
